EARTHX, The Way of the Rain, Inc., and M3-MAKE MEDIA MATTER are set to present the Texas premiere of "The Way of the Rain, Hope for Earth," an environmental concert film created and directed by Sibylle Szaggars Redford. The event, which will take place on October 22, 2026, at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas, marks a significant milestone for the project, as it preserves the October 22, 2022, live performance of "The Way of the Rain" at the same venue.
The film, which combines orchestral music, choral performance, cinematic imagery, visual art, and spoken word, offers an immersive meditation on the beauty, fragility, and interdependence of life on Earth. It features music by Tim Janis, performance-film artistry by Floyd Thomas McBee, and Alexandra Raszkazoff as the Mother Earth soloist. Notably, the screening will include Robert Redford's final narration and spoken-word performance, adding a personal touch to the project.
The Dallas premiere carries particular meaning for the project. The film will be screened at 6:15 p.m., following a VIP cocktail reception at 5:00 p.m. and remarks from Sibylle Szaggars Redford at 6:00 p.m. The evening will conclude with a filmmaker conversation and audience Q&A at 7:15 p.m. VIP tickets are $100 and include the cocktail reception, screening, and Q&A. General-admission tickets are $20 and include the screening and Q&A. For more information, visit www.events.earthx.org/TWOTR26/begin.
EarthX, a Texas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that promotes environmental awareness and impact through education, collaboration, sustainable business, and community-driven solutions, is behind the event. Founded in 2011 by Trammell S. Crow, EarthX convenes environmental leaders, innovators, businesses, and the public through its annual gathering, conferences, and media platform. The organization is committed to fostering a deeper connection between humanity and the natural world, particularly in the face of climate change.
The film is produced by EarthX, The Way of the Rain, Inc., August Sky, King Hollis, M3, Make Media Matter, and Michael Cain. Through its layered visual and musical language, the film invites audiences to consider the living systems that sustain the planet and the responsibility people share in protecting them. Rather than presenting environmental issues solely through data or policy, the work uses art to create space for reflection, emotional connection, and shared purpose.
