DURHAM, N.C., Oct. 7, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Cypress Creek Energy, a leading U.S. energy infrastructure platform, has bolstered its leadership team to support its accelerated growth. The company has appointed Peter Toomey as Chief Operating Officer (COO), Nancy Bucher as Chief People Officer, and Billy Wang as Executive Vice President of Cypress Creek Solutions.
Peter Toomey, who previously served as Chief Development Officer, will now oversee Project Execution and Cypress Creek Solutions, with added responsibilities for Continuous Improvement and Grid Integration. His role aligns critical capabilities across construction, operations, and long-term asset performance, ensuring disciplined execution and operational excellence.
Nancy Bucher joins the company to lead talent acquisition, team member development, total rewards, and culture initiatives. With experience from Golin Ketchum, Bucher will focus on attracting top talent, supporting career growth, and strengthening the company's culture.
Billy Wang brings extensive experience in complex operating environments and performance optimization to his new role as Executive Vice President of Cypress Creek Solutions. He will report to the COO and lead the company's asset management, performance engineering, and in-house operations and maintenance platform, which manages over 8.6 GW of energy assets for Cypress Creek and third-party owners across 24 states.
Cypress Creek's momentum is evident in its recent achievements. Earlier this year, the company closed $3.5 billion in financing for the Steel River Energy Center in Arkansas, marking the groundbreaking of America's largest solar project with battery energy storage. Google has secured energy from both phases through a power purchase agreement, representing the largest solar and storage project in Google's global portfolio to date.
The company's long-term ownership and in-house operations capabilities distinguish its approach in the industry. By operating what it builds, Cypress Creek ensures that lessons from the field feed directly into development, engineering, and construction, improving project design, strengthening accountability, and maximizing long-term performance.
Kevin Smith, CEO of Cypress Creek Energy, expressed his excitement about the new appointments.
Since inception, Cypress Creek has commercialized 19 GW of projects and today has more than 6.8 GW of assets operating or under construction, along with a 19 GW development pipeline. Through Cypress Creek Solutions, its in-house operations and maintenance platform, the company manages more than 8.6 GW of energy assets for both Cypress Creek and third-party owners across 24 states.
