CTA Construction Completes Exterior of New Countryside Elementary School

CTA Construction Managers has completed the exterior enclosure of the new Countryside Elementary School in Newton, Massachusetts. The approximately $76 million project is on track to open to students in January 2027, marking a significant step in the school’s construction.
The new facility, which will replace the aging Countryside Elementary School, is part of the City of Newton's ongoing investment in modern educational infrastructure. The Massachusetts School Building Authority is providing more than $20 million in state grant funding for the project, which is being developed in partnership with the city.
Pat Tompkins, the principal at CTA Construction Managers, expressed excitement about the progress.
The project began in 2025 and is part of CTA Construction Managers' long-standing relationship with the City of Newton. The company has previously constructed the Spaulding Elementary School and Lincoln-Eliot Elementary School for the city. Additionally, CTA Construction Managers and DiNisco Design have collaborated on 10 school projects throughout Massachusetts, including this one.
With the building now enclosed, work is continuing on building systems, finishes, and other elements that will transform the structure into a state-of-the-art learning environment. The new school is expected to provide a modern facility that will benefit the Countryside community for years to come.
Following the transition into the new building, the existing school will be demolished and replaced with new playing fields and associated site improvements. The new Countryside Elementary School is set to open its doors to students in January 2027, ensuring that the community will have a state-of-the-art educational facility to support its students' needs.
