Atrium Hospitality has unveiled a fully renovated Crowne Plaza by IHG in Bowling Green, Kentucky, marking a significant transformation for the 218-room hotel. The renovation aims to enhance the guest experience, making the property more versatile for business and leisure stays.

The hotel, previously known as Holiday Inn University Plaza-Bowling Green, has undergone a complete overhaul, including guest rooms, public spaces, meeting venues, and dining areas. Every aspect of the property has been refreshed to provide a premium experience, aligning with the Crowne Plaza brand's focus on purpose-driven design and thoughtful amenities.

Megan Wallstrom, General Manager of Crowne Plaza by IHG Bowling Green, stated, "Bowling Green has long known this hotel as a place where people come together, and we are thrilled to begin its next chapter as a Crowne Plaza. From the moment guests enter our renewed atrium, they will discover a hotel that feels modern, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed around their journey."

The renovated guest rooms and suites now feature contemporary furnishings and modern finishes, supporting productivity, relaxation, and restful sleep. The atrium and public spaces have been reimagined to create a modern sense of arrival, offering flexible settings for individual work, casual conversation, networking, and downtime. The hotel's signature atrium serves as the heart of the property, connecting the various areas and enhancing the overall guest experience.

For business travelers and meeting attendees, the hotel offers enhanced meeting and event facilities, complementing its direct indoor connection to the Sloan Convention Center. Together, the hotel and convention center provide 45,000 square feet across 15 venues, ranging from executive boardrooms to ballrooms accommodating up to 1,700 guests. This seamless integration enables attendees to move easily between accommodations and event functions, while planners benefit from audiovisual capabilities, catering, and experienced on-site support.

The dining and gathering spaces have also been refreshed, with the Hartland Cafe and Atrium Lounge now offering comfortable settings for guests and local visitors to enjoy meals, connect with colleagues, or unwind at the end of the day. These areas provide a diverse range of options, catering to the needs of various guests and events.

Sandi Snead, Regional Vice President of Operations for Atrium Hospitality's East Region, emphasized the hotel's unique fit within the community. "This transformation brings together the strengths of the hotel, the Bowling Green destination, and a brand designed for the evolving ways people travel. Meeting planners can offer attendees a more seamless experience that extends beyond the meeting room, while individual guests gain a polished and flexible home base for business, campus visits, and time spent exploring the region."

The hotel's location, situated beside Crosswinds Golf Course, provides convenient access to downtown Bowling Green, Western Kentucky University, the National Corvette Museum, NCM Motorsports Park, Beech Bend Raceway and Amusement Park, and Lost River Cave, with Mammoth Cave National Park nearby. This prime location makes it an ideal destination for business travelers, meeting attendees, university visitors, sports groups, motorcoach tours, family trips, and weekend getaways.
