Alberta, Criterium Energy Ltd., an independent upstream energy development and production company focused on Southeast Asia, has provided an operational update on its SE-MGH gas development project and announced plans for future gas developments. The company has received the necessary environmental approval for the SE-MGH development and associated gas pipeline, marking a significant regulatory milestone.
Criterium Energy received the UKL/UPL (Environmental Permit) document for the SE-MGH development, including the 25 km pipeline connecting SEM-01 to the Teluk Rendah Gas Plant (TRGP). This approval sets out the environmental management, monitoring, and reporting measures to be followed during the development and operations.
The pipeline contractor is completing final construction activities, with commissioning anticipated in early October.
Following the first gas from SE-MGH, Criterium plans to shift its focus to the next phase of low-cost gas developments, including N-MGH (5 bcf 2P Reserves1), Cerah (34 bcf 2U Resource1), and Macan Gedang (13 bcf 2C Resource1). Testing and site preparation are ongoing at N-MGH, with the field anticipated to add 2-3 mmcf/d1 in the first half of 2027, in addition to incremental oil volumes.
To support development activity at Macan Gedang and Cerah in 2027, Criterium has commenced the review and submission process for the UKL/UPL requirements. The scope of the study also includes activities at Berkas, a prospect located less than 10 km from Cerah with an estimated 2U Resource of 17 bcf and 6.0 MMbbl1. This proactive step will allow Criterium to move swiftly if the decision is made to drill the Berkas prospect.
Criterium Energy will present at two upcoming investor conferences. President and CEO Matthew Klukas will present at the Schachter Catch the Energy Conference on October 17, 2026, at 11:15 am MT in Calgary. He will also present at the Planet MicroCap Toronto 2026 conference on October 28, 2026, at 3:00 pm ET in Toronto.
The company is committed to maximizing total shareholder return by executing across three strategic pillars: fostering a successful and sustainable reputation, leveraging innovation and technology arbitrage, and achieving operational excellence with an unwavering commitment to safety. Criterium Energy aims to contribute responsible, safe, and secure sources of energy to meet the growing energy demand in Southeast Asia, where the region is expected to reach a population approaching 800 million people within the next 25 years, driving world-leading economic growth and record-high energy demand.
