cplace, a project portfolio management software company, is hosting its annual Global PPM Summit, cplace Day 2026, on October 29. The event, which will stream free online, aims to showcase how artificial intelligence (AI) can be integrated into project management without compromising data control and governance.
This year's theme, "The Builder Era," addresses a critical question facing many project management office (PMO) leaders: how to move AI from pilot projects into everyday operations while maintaining control over data and approval processes. According to Doug Surrett, CEO of cplace, most enterprises are currently conducting AI pilots, but far fewer have fully integrated AI into their project portfolios.
At the summit, cplace will host a keynote by Surrett and Navid Heidemann, head of product at cplace, along with Marvin Adami, COO, and Julia Hillenkötter, product manager for cplace AI. The keynote will feature live demonstrations of the cplace AI Builder, a tool that enables teams to describe the applications they need in plain language and receive governed, production-ready applications within the cplace platform.
The summit will also feature customer sessions from leading companies, including Daimler Truck, Daimler Buses, Bayer Pharma R&D, and Hitachi Rail. These sessions will explore how these organizations have successfully integrated AI into their project portfolios, including:
cplace expects more than 500 attendees to participate in person in Munich, with an additional 800 joining online. The event will provide on-demand recordings for all registrants, allowing those who cannot attend in person to access the sessions later.
The summit is part of cplace's ongoing efforts to expand its presence in the United States, with the company establishing its North American headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina, in September 2026. cplace already serves global manufacturers in automotive, life sciences, and aerospace, with its platform running across their U.S. operations.
The event will be a significant milestone for cplace, as it aims to demonstrate the practical application of AI in project management while maintaining strict data governance. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from leading companies and gain insights into how AI can be effectively integrated into their own operations.
