BEIJING, Sept. 22, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- China Power Engineering Consulting Group (CPECC) has launched a new platform aimed at integrating computing power and energy resources to support the country's "green power + computing" strategy. This initiative, part of CPECC's broader strategy to enhance its business structure and capabilities, comes as China prioritizes the convergence of computing and power sectors.
According to CPECC, the establishment of the Computing-Power Synergy Industry Development Platform is a critical step in implementing the nation's "East-to-West Computing" strategy. The platform is designed to support the development priorities outlined in China Energy Engineering Corporation's 15th Five-Year Plan, focusing on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and green energy.
The platform's launch follows significant progress in CPECC's efforts to integrate computing power and energy. Since 2021, the company has undertaken several major projects, including the flagship project in Qingyang, Gansu Province, which was selected as one of the first outstanding application cases for China's national integrated computing-power network by the National Data Administration. Additionally, the Ulanqab project received the "Energy China Cup" Quality Engineering Award, while projects in Beijing, Wuzhong, and Wuhu are advancing in phases.
CPECC aims to accelerate the implementation of the new computing-power synergy strategy, focusing on three key transitions: moving from strategic planning to large-scale development, shifting from project construction to integrated investment, construction, and operation, and transforming from traditional power services to integrated "energy + digital" solutions. The company believes these efforts will enhance its operational efficiency and drive the transformation and upgrading of its computing-power synergy business.
The company projects that China's intelligent computing capacity will exceed 20 million PFLOPS by 2030, while electricity consumption associated with computing power is expected to reach 800 billion kWh. This significant market potential underscores the strategic importance of CPECC's initiative.
By leveraging its expertise in energy engineering and digital infrastructure, CPECC seeks to contribute to the national goal of promoting sustainable development through the integration of computing and power sectors. The platform is expected to play a crucial role in optimizing CPECC's business structure and strengthening its integrated energy and digital service capabilities.
