VANCOUVER, BC, September 4, 2026, Copper One Resources Corp. (CSE: CEXY | OTCID: CEXYF | FSE: IW8 | WKN: A42AGR) has announced significant new surface copper mineralization at its Sport Project in Utah’s historic San Francisco Mining District. The company’s initial reconnaissance program has identified copper-silver mineralization up to 1.155% Cu, marking a promising step in expanding its North American copper portfolio.
During the first-pass surface program, 50 rock grab samples were collected from outcrops, with one sample, SP002, returning an impressive 1.155% Cu. Visible malachite and chalcopyrite were observed in mineralized outcrops, suggesting active mineralization along structural conduits and within breccia zones. These findings align with Copper One’s thesis that the underexplored margins of the Frisco copper trend warrant further exploration.
President and CEO David Greenway commented, “These initial results help further delineate favorable exploration zones in the highly prospective Sport Project. Identifying this level of copper mineralization at surface provides a strong starting point for systematic follow-up exploration.”
Greenway further noted, “Copper reaching a new record intraday high of US$6.7775 per pound on August 26 reinforces why we are focused on building a portfolio of North American copper assets. Copper is increasingly critical to power grids, electrification, and the rapidly expanding infrastructure requirements of AI and data centers. Against that backdrop, we believe this is an important time to be exploring for new copper discoveries, and the early results at Sport provide us with another opportunity to do exactly that.”
Copper One plans to expand surface sampling, geological mapping, and geophysical surveys to better understand the controls on mineralization and evaluate the potential for a broader intrusive-related copper system at the Sport Project. The company’s initial exploration efforts have already highlighted the potential for mineralization vectors toward a concealed intrusive source of copper mineralization.
The Sport Project, located on 1,902 acres (770 hectares) within the historic San Francisco Mining District, comprises 108 contiguous unpatented lode mining claims. The property lies on trend with the Cactus Copper-Gold Project being explored by Hawk Resources (ASX: HWK). Surface mapping has identified extensive magmatic-hydrothermal breccias, alteration, and structural features that support the interpretation of near-surface, breccia-hosted mineralization associated with an intrusive-related copper system.
Copper One’s efforts are part of a broader strategy to identify and advance high-potential copper projects in North America, driven by the growing global demand for critical metals required for various industries. The company is committed to responsible exploration practices and the advancement of critical metals projects.
The new discovery at the Sport Project comes amid a strong copper market. Copper prices have gained approximately 17% in 2026, reaching a fresh intraday record of US$6.7775 per pound on August 26, 2026. This market strength underscores the increasing strategic importance of copper in global infrastructure development and the expanding infrastructure requirements of advanced technologies.
Copper One Resources Corp. remains focused on building a robust portfolio of North American copper assets to meet the growing global demand. The early results at the Sport Project provide a promising foundation for future exploration efforts and contribute to the company’s ongoing commitment to responsible exploration and long-term shareholder value.
