Coop Pank Launches Second Share Buyback Program
Coop Pank, one of Estonia’s leading universal banks, has initiated the second stage of its share buyback program, known as the Second Buyback Programme. This move follows the bank’s general meeting resolution and the approval from the Financial Supervision Authority, granting permission to repurchase up to 3,109,716 shares for a total of up to €3 million.
The primary goal of the Second Buyback Programme is to fulfill obligations arising from share options granted to employees and members of the management bodies. According to the bank’s Management Board, it may acquire up to 398,352 shares for a total consideration of up to €2.5 million. The maximum price per share will be determined in accordance with applicable legal requirements and the resolution of the general meeting.
The programme will run from September 2 to October 31, 2026. Coop Pank has decided to acquire up to 9,264 shares daily based on the average daily trading volume of August 2026, which was 37,060 shares. This is a discretionary right of the bank and not an obligation. Shareholders and third parties should not assume that shares will be repurchased on a daily basis.
Paavo Truu, Chief Financial Officer of Coop Pank, stated, “The repurchase program aligns with our strategic goals of managing share ownership and fulfilling our commitment to our employees and management bodies. We will continue to monitor the market and adjust our strategies as necessary.”
Coop Pank, headquartered in Estonia, serves over 237,600 clients, bringing banking services closer to people’s homes. The bank is a key player in the Estonian financial sector, with a strategic stake held by the domestic retail chain Coop Eesti, which operates 320 stores.
