CookieYes Launches MCP Server for AI-Driven Cookie Consent Management

CookieYes, a consent management platform trusted by over 2 million websites, has introduced a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that allows users to manage cookie consent through AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT. This innovative tool enables customers to check consent setups and make approved updates using simple prompts, streamlining the process of managing online privacy settings.

The MCP server connects AI assistants to external software, allowing them to retrieve information and perform tasks. Customers can now use their existing AI tools to manage cookie consent without switching between platforms or navigating complex dashboard settings. For example, users can ask their AI assistant to check the status of a cookie banner or review scan results.

Developers can use the MCP server to retrieve installation code and check if a banner is live. Marketers can review scan results before launching campaigns, while agencies can monitor banner status across multiple client websites with a single request. Users can also run scans or update banner colors, layouts, positions, and preference-center styles using simple prompts.

Anvar T.K., CEO of CookieYes, emphasized the company's commitment to simplifying consent management.

The MCP server is available on every CookieYes plan, including the free tier. It provides ten tools, with seven being read-only. The three tools that trigger scans or change banner settings show the proposed action and require approval. Authentication uses OAuth 2.1 with PKCE, and MCP access must be enabled by the account owner. Connected AI assistants can read limited banner configuration and scan metadata but cannot access personal data, consent records, cookie values, credentials, billing information, or account member details. Account owners can disable MCP access entirely or disconnect individual AI clients at any time from the CookieYes dashboard or from the AI client's own settings.

CookieYes, known for its comprehensive consent management solutions, now offers this new feature to enhance user experience and streamline the process of managing online privacy settings. The platform supports businesses in complying with GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy frameworks through cookie scanning, customizable banners, geo-targeting, and consent logging. CookieYes is a certified Gold-tier Google CMP Partner, serving clients such as Ahrefs, KFC, Domino's, and Forbes.
