Construction Begins on Fourth Stage of Mežpilsēta Residential Project

SIA Merko Mājas, a Latvian residential developer, has commenced construction on the fourth stage of the Mežpilsēta residential project in Riga, Latvia. The project, located in the Mežciems area, will see the construction of a six-storey building with 53 apartments. The building is set to be completed by the beginning of 2028.
The Mežpilsēta development, which can be accessed via the website [mezpilseta.merkomajas.lv](mezpilseta.merkomajas.lv), aims to provide residents with an energy-efficient living environment. The apartments will have an A energy efficiency rating, ensuring a sustainable and comfortable living space. Apartment sizes range from 39 to 77 square meters, with prices ranging from EUR 2,800 to 3,200 per square meter.
The project will also offer 37 outdoor parking spaces, including four spaces equipped with electric charging options, catering to the growing demand for electric vehicles. Additionally, the development will feature a stroller storage room on the ground floor, a spacious community lounge area with a kitchen and restroom facilities, and a secure fenced yard. The landscaped grounds will include a children’s playground, table tennis, and recreational areas, providing a vibrant community environment.
The Mežpilsēta project is part of a larger residential development that already includes four completed buildings with 164 apartments and a fifth building under construction, scheduled for completion by the end of 2026. The total development will consist of 11 residential buildings with 535 apartments.

The company, known for its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, manages all phases of the development, from planning and design to construction, sales, and warranty service. AS Merko Ehitus, a group company that constructs buildings and infrastructure and develops real estate, operates in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. As of the end of 2025, the group employed 613 people and reported a revenue of EUR 311 million for the year.
