Construction has begun on a new destination for Girl Scouts and families in Tyler, Texas, with the East Texas Girl Scout DreamLab set to open its doors to the public on February 20, 2027. The DreamLab, powered by The Moody Foundation, is a dynamic space designed to encourage creativity, curiosity, confidence, and connection among its visitors.
The DreamLab will feature interactive spaces such as a podcast studio, a climbing wall, and a high-tech Tinker Space equipped with 3-D printers and laser cutters. These facilities will provide opportunities for girls and young women to explore various fields, from technology and engineering to communication and leadership. The space is designed to turn curiosity into real-world experiences, allowing girls to see possibilities for themselves beyond the classroom.
Jennifer Bartkowski, CEO of Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas (GSNETX), emphasized the importance of the DreamLab in the community.
The DreamLab is part of GSNETX's broader mission to help young leaders discover their strengths and take on new challenges. The organization serves girls and volunteers across 32 counties, providing a platform for girls to be unapologetically themselves. In 2018, GSNETX opened the first STEM Center of Excellence in the Girl Scout Movement, transforming the STEM pipeline and elevating girls' voices in a fast-growing sector of the U.S. economy. In 2025 and 2026, GSNETX opened the first two Girl Scout DreamLabs in Texas, modern, creative spaces for exploration, collaboration, and community.
The East Texas DreamLab is more than a building; it is an investment in the potential of every girl in the community and the future of East Texas.
Construction on the DreamLab is expected to continue throughout the coming months, with additional details to be announced soon regarding programs, events, and opportunities to experience the space. The DreamLab is anticipated to celebrate its public Grand Opening on Saturday, February 20, 2027, in Tyler.
