DENVER, CO, UNITED STATES, October 20, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Confluence Security has completed a significant upgrade to the video security systems on 157 Regional Transportation District (RTD) light rail vehicles, enhancing passenger safety and operational visibility.

The multi-year project, spearheaded by Confluence Security, involved the installation of eight high-resolution cameras per vehicle. Specifically, each car was equipped with four i-PRO WV-S4556 fisheye cameras, providing a 360-degree view of the interior space. Additionally, four i-PRO WV-X35302 compact dome cameras were installed to offer targeted monitoring, low-light performance, and rugged durability suitable for transit environments.

According to Bryan Johnson, the lead installer at Confluence Security, the project was designed to provide comprehensive interior coverage while ensuring long-term reliability and maintainability.

The intelligent onboard surveillance system combines the wide-angle coverage of the fisheye cameras with the precision and durability of the dome cameras. The solution supports enhanced passenger safety, faster incident response, and improved operational visibility. The cameras are recorded on ruggedized mobile-rated servers, ensuring secure and reliable long-term operation.

Confluence Security, a Colorado-based provider of open-architecture security solutions, has been serving a range of industries, including K-12 education, public transit, law enforcement fleets, and parking enforcement. The company's emphasis on interoperability and long-term system support underscores its commitment to providing robust security solutions.

The project, which covers 157 light rail vehicles, is part of Confluence Security's ongoing efforts to enhance public safety and operational efficiency in transit systems. By implementing this advanced video security system, RTD aims to create a safer environment for passengers and staff alike.
