Clear Street Becomes General Clearing Member of London Stock Exchange

LONDON, Sept. 17, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Clear Street, a financial infrastructure technology firm, has completed its expansion into UK and European equities by becoming a General Clearing Member of the London Stock Exchange. The company, which launched its UK operations with Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) authorization in December 2024, has since added a range of services including execution, clearing, and financing in UK and European equities.

In July 2026, Clear Street joined LCH EquityClear, the pan-European central counterparty for equities, exchange traded products, and equity equivalents, as a General Clearing Member. The company was admitted as a Member Firm and General Clearing Member of the London Stock Exchange with effect from September 3, 2026. This move allows Clear Street to clear its own UK and European equity business directly, rather than through a third-party clearer. The firm now holds UK, European, and US positions on one ledger, providing a streamlined and efficient trading experience for its clients.

Clear Street's expansion into the UK and European markets follows its authorization from the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets in April 2026 to operate as an investment firm, establishing a licensed presence across the European Economic Area. The company currently serves more than 900 institutional clients, trades an average of $33.6 billion of US equities daily, and holds 57 exchange and clearing memberships globally.
