Cielo Waste Solutions Names Harry Andersen as New Chair

CALGARY, Alberta, Sept. 16, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Cielo Waste Solutions Corp., a clean fuels and low-carbon infrastructure project developer, has announced significant leadership changes aimed at bolstering its strategic execution. Effective September 15, 2026, Harry Andersen has been appointed as the new Chair of the Board, replacing Sheila A. Leggett, who will continue to serve as a director and Chair of the Governance, Nominating and Compensation Committee. Larry Schafran, a long-serving member of the Board, has resigned but will remain an advisor to the Company.

Andersen brings extensive experience in the midstream and energy sectors, having previously served as Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President of Pembina Pipeline Corporation. His roles there included overseeing pipeline transportation, terminalling, storage, and rail operations, as well as leading major project development and execution. Andersen also held the position of Chief Legal Officer and Senior Vice President, External Affairs, where he managed major project engineering and construction, legal, regulatory, government, environmental, Indigenous, and community affairs functions.

The appointment of Andersen comes as Cielo continues to build a leadership team aligned with its strategy. The company is focused on developing clean fuels and low-carbon infrastructure projects by securing feedstock and offtake, deploying proven third-party technologies, and integrating carbon management such as Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). Cielo also aims to cultivate meaningful strategic and Indigenous partnerships, bringing local knowledge, expertise, and participation to project development.

Andersen's appointment is part of a deliberate build-out of a leadership group with direct experience in major project development and execution, project finance, carbon capture and storage, regulatory and Indigenous engagement, risk management, and public company governance. The Board now includes Sheila A. Leggett, a governance and strategic resource leader; Kaush Rakhit, a senior energy-based business leader; Peter MacKay, who provides guidance on government, public services, industry practice, and economic development; and Ryan C. Jackson, the Chief Executive Officer.
