VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Sept. 28, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- In September 2026, Chris Adams, the newly appointed President and CEO of Entrée Resources Ltd., embarked on a busy schedule, including a visit to Mongolia to personally oversee the company’s interests in the Oyu Tolgoi copper-gold project. Adams, who joined the Entrée Resources board as an independent director in January 2026, following the retirement of Dr. Michael Price, has been instrumental in shaping the company’s strategic direction.

Adams, with over 30 years of experience in mining finance, including roles at CIBC Capital Markets and Macquarie Group, brings a wealth of expertise to the company. His appointment was seen as a significant step in the company’s leadership transition, aimed at driving forward the development of the Oyu Tolgoi project and ensuring the interests of Entrée’s shareholders are well-represented.

During his visit to Mongolia, Adams met with key stakeholders, including Rio Tinto and Oyu Tolgoi LLC, as well as local business leaders and government officials. The visit was part of a broader effort to strengthen relationships and ensure the smooth operation of the project. Adams expressed satisfaction with the scale and efficiency of the operations at Oyu Tolgoi, highlighting the expertise of the project’s management team.

In addition to his visit, Adams announced the appointment of Sarah Strunk and Richard Williams to the Entrée Resources board. Strunk, a director of international copper producer Teck Resources since 2022, brings extensive experience in the mining industry. Williams, the CEO of Winshear Metals Corp., adds a geologist’s perspective and 35 years of experience in exploration and development to the board.

The company is also focused on the development of the Hugo North Extension Lift 1 project, which is expected to be completed in Q4 2026. Adams noted that the project will be incorporated into the company’s upcoming technical report, which is targeted for release in Q1 2027. The report will include an updated resource estimate for Hugo North Extension Lift 2, reflecting current costs and market conditions.

Adams also highlighted the company’s commitment to community engagement, particularly through its scholarship program at Mongolia’s leading universities. The program aims to support students studying mining-related programs and has already had a positive impact on the students and the broader community.

The transfer of the Joint Venture mining licenses to Oyu Tolgoi LLC remains a key focus for the company. Adams and the company continue to engage with the Government of Mongolia and other stakeholders to facilitate the transfer, which is subject to regulatory approval. The company is also working towards converting its Joint Venture interest into a simplified structure of equivalent economic value, subject to Toronto Stock Exchange acceptance.

Adams concluded by emphasizing the company’s commitment to regular updates and increased engagement with shareholders. He encouraged investors to follow the company’s progress and provided contact information for further inquiries.

The technical report, expected in Q1 2027, will provide investors with a clearer understanding of the potential value of Entrée’s interest in the Oyu Tolgoi project. With copper prices near all-time highs and the project poised to become the fourth largest copper mine in the world, Adams remains optimistic about the company’s future prospects.
