ATLANTA, Sept. 30, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Choices in Learning Elementary Charter School in Winter Springs, Florida, has embarked on a pilot program to enhance campus safety by integrating CENTEGIX CrisisAlert™ wearable panic buttons and Alert Activated Video. The initiative, demonstrated during a September 22 Demo Day, aims to provide teachers and staff with a quick and efficient way to request assistance during everyday incidents and emergencies.
During the Demo Day, Chief Rick Francis of the Seminole County Sheriff's Office and Dr. Jordan Rodriguez, the principal of Choices in Learning Elementary Charter School, showcased how the technology works in practice. The event allowed administrators, public safety partners, and local media to witness firsthand the functionality of the CrisisAlert system and gather insights from the school staff.
According to Dr. Rodriguez, the primary goal of the pilot is to ensure that teachers and staff have an easy way to request help without needing to locate a phone or open an app.
The CrisisAlert technology works by allowing school staff to quickly reach an administrator, nurse, or another on-site responder using a wearable badge. For more serious emergencies, the system can also support broader responses by surfacing relevant live camera feeds, helping on-site responders understand the situation and coordinate an appropriate response.
Chief Francis highlighted the importance of having a simple, user-friendly tool that can complement existing mass communication systems.
CENTEGIX CrisisAlert currently protects 53% of Florida public schools, including more than 1.5 million students and 180,000 staff members. The company's safety platform brings together solutions for daily safety operations and emergency management, from wearable safety technology, visitor management and locating, student movement, and communications to digital mapping, Alert Activated Video, and reunification.
