China Gold International Resources has resumed mining operations at the Chang Shan Hao Gold Mine (CSH Mine) following a localized slope instability incident that occurred on May 22, 2026. The company had previously suspended open-pit mining as a safety precaution, but continued to operate the processing plant using existing low-grade ore stockpiles.
The incident did not result in any casualties or equipment losses. In response to the situation, China Gold International Resources engaged external geotechnical experts and professional organizations to conduct assessments and develop remediation plans. By the end of September 2026, the company had completed key interim remediation works, including restoring the mine road system, removing loose material and hazardous rock masses, reinforcing the landslide body, and establishing drainage systems. Slope monitoring continued throughout this period.
Following an evaluation by a third-party professional organization, the slope geohazards affecting mining operations have been addressed, and the mine now meets the safety standards required for the resumption of normal mining operations in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Mining operations resumed as planned in early October 2026 after completing the filing process with the emergency management authorities.
The company reaffirms its annual production guidance for the CSH Mine, stating that the suspension of open-pit mining during the incident did not significantly impact gold production. The CSH Mine will continue to implement safety risk control measures and optimize the blending of freshly mined ore with stockpiled ore to maintain stable ore delivery volumes and processing grades. This will support flexible and efficient production scheduling for the remainder of the year.
China Gold International Resources operates two mines, the Chang Shan Hao Gold Mine in Inner Mongolia, China, and the Jiama Copper-Gold Polymetallic Mine in Tibet, China. The company’s objective is to build shareholder value through growing production at its current mining operations, expanding its resource base, and acquiring and developing new projects internationally.
