CHES Opens Office at El Centro in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Kan., Oct. 7, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Credit & Homeownership Empowerment Services, Inc. (CHES, Inc.), a HUD-certified nonprofit housing counseling agency and licensed consumer lender, is expanding its services by opening a new office in Kansas City, Kansas, at the offices of El Centro, Inc. This partnership will bring HUD-certified housing counseling and financial education to families at El Centro's established Kansas City, Kansas location, starting in August 2026. The new office will be located within El Centro's Richard A. Ruiz Administrative and Services Building and will be staffed with a bilingual counselor, allowing CHES to offer its services directly to the community it serves.

Beginning in August 2026, CHES will lease space within El Centro's Richard A. Ruiz Administrative and Services Building and staff it with a bilingual counselor. The organization will offer bilingual homeownership counseling and education, credit building, down payment assistance guidance, and financial coaching in both English and Spanish. In addition, CHES will partner with El Centro on educational opportunities that help families build credit, prepare for homeownership, and strengthen their financial futures.

For the past sixteen years, CHES has worked to make homeownership and financial stability attainable for families across the Kansas City metro. Opening its doors at El Centro allows CHES to bring its services to families in a place they already know and trust. El Centro, Inc., a Latino-led organization serving the Latino community for 50 years, is excited to strengthen its partnership with CHES. The new office will expand the dream of homeownership for families in the community.

Founded in 2010, CHES, Inc. is a HUD-certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit housing counseling agency and licensed consumer lender serving the Kansas City metropolitan area in Missouri and Kansas. The organization helps families build credit, achieve and sustain homeownership, and access affordable, responsible lending.

El Centro, Inc., a Latino-led, Latino-serving welcoming center for Latino immigrants and families, strengthens communities and improves lives through educational, health, wealth-building, and advocacy opportunities. The organization empowers individuals and families to achieve greater stability and opportunity through bilingual, culturally responsive programs and one-on-one support.
