SCOTCH PLAINS, N.J., Oct. 01, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Applied Radiology and Bracco have announced the winners of the inaugural CEUS Future Leaders Program, a global educational initiative aimed at recognizing and supporting the next generation of clinicians, researchers, and imaging professionals advancing the science and clinical application of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS).
The program, developed in connection with the 40th Annual International Bubble Conference, received seventeen poster submissions across four categories: basic science, radiology, pediatrics, and cardiology. These submissions came from a diverse group of academic and medical institutions from around the globe. The posters highlighted innovative clinical applications, emerging research, and the evolving role of CEUS in various medical fields.
Each submission was evaluated by an international group of experts, including Peter Burns, J. Brian Fowlkes, Nico de Jong, Steven B. Feinstein, Sharon L. Mulvagh, Petros Nihoyannopoulos, Roxy Senior, Kassa Darge, Misun Hwang, Richard G. Barr, Dirk-André Clevert, Yuko Kono, Andrej Lyshchik, Richard Towbin, and Stephanie Wilson. The committee selected four winners based on the scientific merit, clinical relevance, innovation, educational value, and overall presentation quality of the posters.
The overall winner in the basic science category is Anurag Paranjape, a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh Heart and Vascular Institute.
Colbey Freeman, a Neuroradiologist and Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of Pennsylvania, won the radiology category.
Zuzanna Habura, a medical student at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg / University Hospital Erlangen in Germany, was recognized in the pediatrics category.
Bethany Gholson, a Senior Research Cardiac Sonographer at the University of Virginia, Robert M. Berne Cardiovascular Research Center, won the cardiology category.
The program, which is a part of the 40th Annual International Bubble Conference, is supported through an unrestricted educational grant from Bracco. Bracco's commitment to CEUS is evident in its support of this initiative, which aims to advance the understanding and use of CEUS across multiple medical specialties.
Anderson Publishing, Ltd., publisher of Applied Radiology, a peer-reviewed clinical review journal celebrating 55 years of publication, has been instrumental in organizing this program. The journal reaches an audience of more than 60,000 healthcare professionals. Bracco, a global leader in diagnostic imaging, operates in more than 100 countries with a workforce of over 4,000 employees and consolidated annual revenues of approximately €2 billion, with 88% generated by international markets.
The CEUS Future Leaders Program provides a platform for early-career clinicians, researchers, and imaging professionals to share their work, engage with experts, and contribute to the continued advancement of contrast-enhanced ultrasound and patient care.
