C&D Industrial Maintenance LLC has expanded its commercial door and dock services platform into East Tennessee through the acquisition of the Overhead Door Company of Knoxville, Chattanooga, and Johnson City. The acquisition, which marks C&D's first add-on since partnering with Crescentia Capital in 2025, brings the company into a new market with a long-standing distributorship.
Founded in 1936 by William S. Trimble, the Overhead Door Company of Knoxville, Chattanooga, and Johnson City has served East Tennessee for nine decades. The business ranks among the longest-standing distributors of Overhead Door Corporation products in the country. From branches in Knoxville, Chattanooga, and Johnson City, the company provides sales, installation, service, and repair of commercial and residential overhead doors, rolling steel doors, dock equipment, and related products to contractors, industrial and institutional facilities, and homeowners across the region.
Trey Roeder, CEO of C&D Industrial Maintenance, expressed his excitement about the acquisition. "We are honored to carry that legacy forward. Customers will see the same trucks, the same technicians, and the same commitment to the Overhead Door brand, now backed by the resources of a growing regional platform."
Stephen Randall, a partner at Crescentia Capital, added, "OHD East Tennessee is exactly the kind of business we set out to partner with when we formed this platform with a trusted brand, deep customer relationships, and an exceptional team. East Tennessee is a strategic market for us, and this acquisition strengthens our ability to serve national and regional customers across the Southeast."
Bill Trimble, President of Wm. S. Trimble Co., Inc., the company being acquired, stated, "For nearly a century, our family and our employees have taken pride in serving East Tennessee. In C&D and Crescentia, we found partners that share our values, respect our people, and are committed to the Overhead Door brand. I am confident the business is in good hands for its next chapter."
Nathan Cox, a 34-year veteran of the distributorship, will continue to lead the Knoxville commercial business. The acquisition is supported by legal counsel from Miles & Stockbridge P.C. and Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, financial and tax due diligence from Plante Moran, and financing from Petra Capital Partners. E Squared Consulting and APEX Business Consulting served as advisors to the seller.
C&D Industrial Maintenance LLC, founded in 2018, is a leading provider of service, repair, replacement, and installation of commercial doors and loading docks across the Southeast. The company serves a diverse customer base, including some of the nation's largest retailers, supply chain and industrial warehouses, industry partners, and manufacturers.
Crescentia Capital, the equity buyout business of Calvert Street Investment Partners, focuses primarily on control investments in companies providing critical or essential services to the industrial and infrastructure end markets. Crescentia has been partnering with families and owner-operators to accelerate growth and drive value creation in lower middle-market companies since 1995.
