SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 24, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Camus Energy, a software provider for data centers, has joined the newly formed AI Energy Management Alliance (AEMA) alongside tech giants like Google and NVIDIA. This partnership aims to enhance the integration of data centers with the power grid, ensuring that growing power demands align with grid reliability.
The AEMA, a coalition dedicated to advancing flexible AI data centers, focuses on strategies that allow data centers to dynamically adjust their power consumption. By doing so, these centers can provide relief to the grid during peak stress periods, acting as beneficial assets rather than mere consumers of electricity. Camus Energy’s FlexConnect software plays a crucial role in this initiative by enabling data centers to connect to the grid up to five years faster than traditional methods. This acceleration is achieved through the use of flexible operating limits and existing infrastructure, bypassing the need for extensive grid expansion plans and associated customer rate increases.
Astrid Atkinson, CEO and co-founder of Camus Energy, emphasized the importance of rapid access to power for the AI industry.
Camus Energy’s FlexConnect software is designed to accelerate the power connectivity process for data centers, making it easier for developers to integrate their facilities into the grid. The company, founded by distributed computing experts from Google and Amazon, delivers software solutions to major hyperscalers and U.S. utility partners, reaching seven million utility customers. Camus’ approach not only streamlines the interconnection process but also maximizes the efficiency of existing infrastructure without the need for extensive grid upgrades.
The AEMA, a first-of-its-kind coalition, brings together a diverse range of stakeholders, including leading AI platforms, infrastructure firms, data center operators, technology companies, and power utilities and grid operators. Its mission is to leverage intelligent AI energy management to turbocharge the buildout of AI infrastructure, while also advancing affordable and reliable power. By aligning data center expansion with grid reliability, the AEMA aims to foster a more sustainable and efficient energy ecosystem.
Through its membership in AEMA, Camus Energy is contributing to the development of technical standards, market definitions, and public policy that will shape the future of data center grid integration. This partnership underscores the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in the rapidly evolving data center industry.
