EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Sept. 3, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Cambium, a leading developer of advanced composites and specialty materials, has introduced ApexFrame 5000, a high-temperature film adhesive designed for non-structural bonding applications. This innovative adhesive, engineered to withstand temperatures up to 800°F (427°C) for short durations and 600°F (315°C) for sustained periods, addresses a critical gap in the market for materials that can handle extreme thermal environments.

ApexFrame 5000 is a phthalonitrile-based adhesive that is solvent-free and room-temperature stable, requiring no freezer storage. This feature simplifies logistics and reduces the total cost of ownership for manufacturers. The adhesive's unique properties make it ideal for applications in demanding environments such as aircraft and drones.

"ApexFrame 5000 was developed in response to a customer's need for a high-temperature adhesive that could handle extreme thermal environments in aircraft and drone applications," explained James Griffin, Cambium's Chief Technology Officer. "Our team combined our materials expertise with a rapid development approach to deliver a solution that meets demanding performance requirements without compromising manufacturability."

The launch of ApexFrame 5000 is part of Cambium's core operating model, which involves taking a material from discovery through qualified production at an accelerated pace. ApexFrame 5000 moves through Cambium's integrated pipeline, encompassing discovery, product development, and manufacturing, unified under a single operating system. This streamlined process compresses what traditionally takes years into a matter of months.

Cambium's manufacturing capabilities provide a direct path from formulation to production-ready material, eliminating the delays and handoffs that come from working with separate suppliers. This integration is particularly valuable for customers in aerospace, defense, and space industries, where thermal extremes, tight qualification windows, and long-term reliability are critical.

ApexFrame 5000 is now available in standard roll widths of 12 inches (300mm) and 38 inches (965mm), with additional widths and carrier options available upon request. The adhesive is currently in an unsupported film form, but Cambium is prepared to offer further customization based on customer needs.

"ApexFrame 5000 represents a significant advancement in high-temperature bonding solutions," stated Griffin. "Its unique combination of performance and manufacturability positions Cambium as a leader in advanced materials for extreme environments."
