SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 8, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Cambium, a technology and materials company, has acquired Urban Evolutions, a leader in responsibly-sourced wood interiors, bringing together two decades of expertise in the industry. The acquisition pairs Urban Evolutions' interior products expertise, product innovation, and national client list with Cambium's technology and supply network for sourcing and specifying wood.
Urban Evolutions, founded in 1996, has designed and manufactured customized wood products for commercial, retail, and residential interior projects. Its portfolio includes dimensional wall paneling, flooring, and architectural veneer made from reclaimed, urban, and select-harvest wood, as well as Tribal wood from Tribal Nations' timber harvests. The company's work includes notable projects such as LinkedIn's LEED Gold Omaha campus and Sunnyvale offices, OpenAI's San Francisco headquarters, and Harvard's One Milestone life science complex. In retail, Urban Evolutions has supplied wood for Nike's SoHo store and URBN, the parent of Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, and Free People, including its headquarters and more than 600 stores.
Cambium, which has developed the technology that efficiently coordinates local suppliers nationwide, now offers a full interiors offering through the addition of Urban Evolutions. The combined company can now supply an entire building, from the exterior cladding to the feature wall, through a single partner. Cambium's portfolio spans exterior cladding, decking, thermally modified and fire-resistant wood, and structural products.
In the past 18 months, Cambium has grown from one office to six, with a team of more than 110 employees across the East Coast, West Coast, and Midwest. The acquisition of Urban Evolutions brings a depth in paneling, flooring, and tabletops that Cambium's portfolio has not had before. With this partnership, Cambium is now able to offer a more comprehensive range of wood products to its clients, providing them with a single point of contact for all their wood needs.
The partnership marks a significant step in the modernization of the wood economy, as Cambium continues to build a national network of local suppliers and develop the technology to make finding and buying the right material as easy as possible.
