CAF Partners with USRowing for Para Rowing Support

San Diego, CA, Sept. 21, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- The Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) and USRowing have announced a significant partnership aimed at supporting emerging rowers with physical disabilities, ahead of the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games. This collaboration is expected to have a profound impact on the development of athletes with disabilities, providing them with the necessary resources and opportunities to progress from early participation to elite competition.

CAF, a global leader in empowering individuals with physical disabilities, has a long-standing commitment to ensuring that access to sport can transform lives. The foundation has raised over $200 million and fulfilled nearly 60,000 funding requests from people with physical disabilities across all 50 states and more than 70 countries, impacting another 60,000 individuals annually. This partnership with USRowing, the national governing body for rowing in the United States, will leverage CAF's extensive experience supporting athletes with physical disabilities, combined with USRowing's sport-specific expertise, to create clearer entry points for individuals who may not be aware of Para rowing opportunities.

This partnership aims to provide grants and scholarships to 10 to 15 emerging Para rowing athletes in the first year, supporting two development camps, and increasing awareness of Para rowing opportunities nationwide.

The collaboration between CAF and USRowing is the first in a series of partnerships focused on strengthening the development of athletes with physical disabilities. By combining CAF's experience supporting athletes with physical disabilities with USRowing's sport-specific expertise, the organizations will create clearer entry points for individuals who may not know that Para rowing is available or how to get involved. This partnership will help remove barriers, connect more athletes to rowing opportunities, and strengthen the pathway for athletes with disabilities at every level.

CAF will continue to announce additional partnerships with National Governing Bodies in the coming months, creating sustained support and visibility for emerging athletes across multiple Paralympic sports.
