KELLOGG, Idaho, Oct. 05, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Bunker Hill Mining Corp. has completed a significant underground drilling campaign at its Cate-8 Vein, marking a step forward in its efforts to expand mineral resources in a cost-effective manner. The company has now initiated a 3,200-foot surface drilling program at its recently acquired Page property, located just three miles from the company’s processing facility in the Silver Valley.
The underground campaign, which involved 39 shallow holes over 14,300 feet, has provided valuable data that will be used to update the resource statement expected to be issued by the end of the fourth quarter of 2026. According to Sam Ash, the company’s President and CEO, the positive results from the Cate-8 Vein will be included in the 2027 mine plan, which is expected to be released within the company’s production guidance.
The initial surface drilling at the Page property, which involved 10 holes over 3,200 feet, has already yielded promising results. The first hole indicated 15 feet of continuous Galena-Siderite and Sphalerite mineralization at a depth of approximately 200 feet from the surface. While visual estimates of mineralization are not a substitute for laboratory assays, these initial results are encouraging and will be followed by comprehensive assay results.
Safety remains a top priority for Bunker Hill, with the company recording 553 consecutive days without a reportable incident. The company is also making steady progress in its ramp-up to commercial production, which is targeted for the end of 2026. During September, Bunker Hill fully commissioned the paste plant and on-boarded the fourth mining crew, enabling the start of continuous 1,800 tonnes per day underground mining operations.
The company has revised its definition of commercial production to include both throughput and metal recovery targets. The operations required by the end of the fourth quarter of 2026 to achieve commercial production include a throughput of at least 65% of the 1,800 tpd nameplate capacity and a zinc/lead/silver recovery of at least 70% for 60 days.
To support the expansion of the mine, Bunker Hill is investigating ways to overcome the existing single access/single egress constraint on mine haulage. The company is studying the potential construction of a second 6,000-foot portal, located just over a mile from the processing plant, with direct access to the 10 Level. Additionally, the company is considering modifications to the processing plant to increase capacity to 2,500 tonnes per day. To support this, Bunker Hill recently acquired 60 acres of land adjacent to and uphill from the processing facility for potential use as a dry-stack tailings facility.
