Brookfield, a global investment firm, has agreed to acquire 100% of Reliance Worldwide Corporation, a global manufacturer of plumbing and heating solutions. The deal, valued at approximately $2.8 billion, is set to close in the first quarter of 2027, subject to customary closing conditions including shareholder, regulatory, and government approvals.

Reliance Worldwide Corporation is headquartered in the United States and operates in the Americas, Europe and the Middle East (EMEA), and Asia Pacific. The company is a market leader in push-to-connect (PTC) fittings for plumbing systems, with strong brands across these regions.

Ranjan noted that Brookfield’s global operating expertise in industrials and the US housing ecosystem positions the firm well to support Reliance in its next phase of growth. The acquisition is expected to leverage Brookfield’s capabilities to enhance Reliance’s operations and expand its product offerings.

The transaction is part of Brookfield’s strategy to invest in high-quality businesses and real assets that provide essential services. The firm’s flagship private equity strategy will fund the investment, with support from its affiliate, Brookfield Business Corporation.

Reliance’s market leadership in PTC fittings is seen as a key asset. The segment remains underpenetrated relative to traditional joining methods, presenting significant growth potential. Additionally, the company has a proven model to expand its non-PTC product offerings to existing customers, supported by a strong position with major retailers and the wholesale channel.

The acquisition is also expected to benefit from industry tailwinds. Resilient cash flows are underpinned by recurring replacement needs in aging housing stocks. A new generation of trades professionals is more receptive to the core PTC products, which is expected to drive long-term demand.

Brookfield’s investment in Reliance Worldwide Corporation is part of its broader strategy to expand its presence in the industrial sector and capitalize on market opportunities. The transaction is expected to strengthen both companies’ positions in the global plumbing and heating solutions market.
