BriaCell Expands Phase 3 Trial to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center

BriaCell Therapeutics Corp. has expanded its pivotal Phase 3 clinical trial for Bria-IMT plus an immune checkpoint inhibitor in metastatic breast cancer to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). This move brings the total number of active clinical sites to more than 80, spanning 15 states, including prestigious institutions like Penn Medicine’s Abramson Cancer Center and Mayo Clinic.
The Phase 3 study, known as Bria-ABC, is evaluating the efficacy of Bria-IMT in combination with an immune checkpoint inhibitor compared to physician's choice of treatment. The primary endpoint is overall survival, and an interim analysis is planned after 144 deaths have occurred. Recently, the independent Data Safety Monitoring Board recommended continuing the Phase 3 study.

BriaCell's Phase 3 study was featured in Nature Medicine as "Eleven clinical trials that will shape medicine in 2026." The company has also announced positive Phase 2 survival data in a similar metastatic breast cancer patient population treated with the same Bria-IMT combination regimen. The Bria-IMT regimen has received FDA Fast Track designation.
The expanded enrollment of MSK is expected to further validate the Phase 3 study's findings and potentially bring a new treatment option to patients with metastatic breast cancer. The study is currently recruiting patients at ClinicalTrials.gov with the identifier NCT06072612.
