Bombardier Celebrates 30 Years of Safety Standdown in Wichita

More than 10,000 aviation professionals from across the globe have participated in Safety Standdown since its inception. The event will kick off with a keynote address from Dr. Tony Kern, CEO of Convergent Performance. Dr. Kern will explore the evolution of safety culture and the impact of risk management strategies. Other notable speakers include Ivan Pupulidy, PhD, from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, who will discuss the untold story of risk. Jermaine Cadogan, a 20-plus year retired U.S. Marine Corps Major, will present on building a culture of excellence and proactive compliance. Bombardier's Safety Standdown has a rich history, first conceived by a group of Learjet demonstration pilots who aimed to make the Bombardier flight demonstration team in Wichita the safest in the industry. Over the years, the seminar has grown in size and scope, becoming a cornerstone of aviation safety education.
