IRVINE, CA, UNITED STATES, October 27, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- BodyEnergy Technology, a company based in Irvine, California, has launched a Kickstarter campaign for two home models of its Ab-Drive treadmill, which was recently named a Special Mention in TIME’s Best Inventions of 2026. This marks a significant milestone for the company, which has been developing its human-powered fitness equipment for over a decade.
The Ab-Drive treadmill is a motor-free, human-powered treadmill that uses a patented system to capture the user’s natural backward stride push through a front abdominal roller. This innovative design allows users to control their speed fully and provides an immediate “stop-on-you” safety function. Additionally, adjustable magnetic resistance offers users a parachute-like drag for higher-intensity training and HIIT workouts.
Hui Yan, Ph.D., the Founder & CEO of BodyEnergy Technology, expressed excitement about bringing the treadmill to the home market.
The Ab-Drive treadmill builds on the foundation of the company’s Hand-Drive model, which was recognized as a TIME Best Invention of 2021. The new home models offer different belt options to meet a range of needs and budgets. The commercial Ab-Drive model was previously debuted at the 2026 HFA Fitness Expo and is currently in use at UFC Gym Torrance, where first-time members learned to operate it within seconds.
