BLUETTI and UN-Habitat Extend Clean Energy Initiative in Nigeria

ABUJA, Nigeria, Sept. 14, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Global clean energy company BLUETTI and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) have extended their joint efforts to provide clean energy solutions to underserved communities in Nigeria. The initiative, part of BLUETTI's ongoing 'Lighting An African Family (LAAF)' program, was carried out in Benue State from September 7 to 10.

The two-day solar energy workshop at Rev. Fr. Orshio Adasu University in Makurdi covered basic solar energy concepts and practical applications. BLUETTI donated 50 PB200 Solar Lighting and Storage Kits to support hands-on learning and launched the Campus Ambassador Programme to promote clean energy awareness among students and their communities.

In Yelwata, a community in Guma Local Government Area, BLUETTI donated 180 additional kits to households headed by women or elderly individuals. These donations benefited more than 1,000 residents, providing safer and more reliable electricity for daily needs. The initiative aims to improve basic living conditions, enhance educational opportunities, and foster community development.

To date, the LAAF program has benefited over 60,000 people across Africa. BLUETTI and UN-Habitat plan to continue their partnership, bringing clean energy solutions to more African countries and contributing to broader social and environmental value. The ongoing collaboration is expected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 337.5 tons over five years, supporting more resilient communities and sustainable development.
