LONDON, Sept. 14, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Bloomberg has expanded its electronic foreign exchange trading platform, Bloomberg Electronic Markets, by introducing a new feature that brings full programmatic execution support to FX options trading. This move marks a significant step in meeting the growing demand from systematic hedge funds and asset managers who require seamless, automated trading processes.
The new offering, the FX Options RFQ API, is now available on Bloomberg's FXGO, an award-winning electronic foreign exchange trading solution. This API allows buy-side traders to run the entire RFQ workflow programmatically, from submitting a trade request to receiving competing dealer quotes and completing the deal, with no manual steps required at any stage.
Kat Furber, Bloomberg's Global Head of FX Trading (FXGO), commented, "We've seen a rise in demand across hedge fund clients on FXGO, and systematic firms are increasingly pushing into FX options, demanding the same end-to-end RFQ automation they have elsewhere in their workflow. The FX Options RFQ API is FXGO meeting that demand, giving buy-side firms complete programmatic execution support across the entire trade lifecycle, backed by the full depth of our global liquidity."
The launch covers vanilla and exotic FX options strategies across deliverable and non-deliverable currency markets and connects clients to FXGO's multi-dealer pool of liquidity providers through a single API. Bloomberg recorded more than 58% year-on-year growth in FX options volumes on FXGO since August 2025, with hedge fund activity up more than 75% during the same period.
