Cartago, Costa Rica, Oct. 15, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Biomerics, a leading contract manufacturer of medical devices, has successfully implemented Eyelit Technologies’ Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to support paperless electronic Device History Records (eDHRs). This move marks a significant step in Biomerics’ journey towards fully compliant, paperless production, particularly at its Costa Rica operations.
Prior to the implementation of Eyelit MES, Biomerics relied on paper-based DHRs that could span from 100 to 500 pages per record, a process that took up to two weeks to compile. This manual compilation process tied up valuable resources that could otherwise be utilized on the production floor. With the new system, the burden of manual compilation is eliminated, freeing staff to focus on production and reducing the risk of documentation errors.
The new system ensures that compliance is built into the manufacturing process itself, rather than being handled as a separate post-production step. An immutable blockchain record of production data, backed by compliant electronic signatures, reinforces Biomerics' conformance with ISO 13485, 21 CFR Part 11, and 21 CFR Part 820/QMSR. Validation is managed within the same system used for production, providing Biomerics with a single auditable record and eliminating the need for a parallel paper trail.
Founded in 1994, Biomerics is a trusted strategic partner to 20 of the world’s top 30 medical device Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). The company operates under a certified ISO 13485:2016 Quality Management System and is compliant with applicable FDA medical device regulations. Biomerics provides end-to-end capabilities, including engineering design and development, technology transfer, manufacturing, sterilization, packaging, and commercialization of medical device components, subassemblies, and finished devices. Through an integrated network of 12 manufacturing facilities across the United States, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic, the company delivers scalable solutions that support customers from concept through commercial production.
The Biomerics go-live with Eyelit MES reflects the broader Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) approach offered by Eyelit Technologies. The company’s AI-powered suite of planning, scheduling, and execution solutions enables businesses to improve production processes, enhance asset utilization, and streamline scheduling. Eyelit’s purpose-built, industry-specific solutions extend the capabilities of existing platforms to optimize decision-making across supply chain, planning, and execution.
This implementation underscores Biomerics' commitment to manufacturing excellence and its dedication to improving and saving lives by delivering exceptional customer experiences and advancing innovation.
