Beta Bionics, a leading developer of advanced diabetes management solutions, has announced a significant milestone with the clearance of its innovative Mint™ patch pump. The company expects to begin full commercialization of Mint in the first quarter of 2027, marking a substantial expansion in its addressable insulin delivery market.

Mint features a transformative reusable and disposable architecture, designed to integrate seamlessly with industry-leading continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) and smartphone control for both iOS and Android users. The device is expected to produce at least 1.5 million disposable units in 2027, with the potential to exceed this number through enhanced manufacturing efficiency.

In conjunction with the Mint launch, Beta Bionics has unveiled 3D Intelligence, its next-generation insulin dosing algorithm. This algorithm is set to be submitted to the FDA through a 510(k) application and is expected to be commercialized in the U.S. by the end of 2026 as iLet 3D™. Simultaneously, 3D Intelligence will power Mint 3D™ at the time of full Mint launch in the first quarter of 2027, subject to FDA clearance.

Sean Saint, President and CEO of Beta Bionics, emphasized the company's commitment to offering choice and personalization.

Mint 3D is designed with a two-piece reusable and disposable architecture, making it smaller and more user-friendly compared to industry-leading patch pumps. It offers a seamless disposable patch change process, firmware-over-the-air updates, and a 200-unit insulin reservoir. The device is also waterproof with an IPX8 rating, allowing up to 5 feet of submersion for 60 minutes. Additionally, Mint 3D is compatible with industry-leading CGMs and can be controlled via iOS and Android smartphones.

The company anticipates that Mint will launch exclusively through the pharmacy channel, with approximately 40% of insured U.S. lives expected to be able to purchase it using their pharmacy benefit. Beta Bionics expects coverage for Mint to increase to at least 50% of insured U.S. lives within the first year of full commercialization.

3D Intelligence, the next-generation insulin dosing algorithm, is designed to offer clinicians three selectable algorithm experiences: Original, Optimized, and Conservative. These experiences are intended to provide greater personalization while preserving the core simplicity and automation of the currently available iLet experience.

For the full year 2026, Beta Bionics has revised its revenue guidance to between $121 million and $126 million, reflecting a potential revenue deferral impact of up to $10 million in the fourth quarter of 2026. The company expects Mint to recapture any revenue lost in the fourth quarter of 2026 during the full year 2027.

In summary, Beta Bionics is poised to revolutionize diabetes management with the launch of Mint and the introduction of 3D Intelligence. The company's focus on choice and personalization is expected to significantly impact the lives of people with diabetes, providing them with more options and better outcomes.
