Beagle Expands Insurance Offerings to Address Property Owners' Needs

Beagle, a subsidiary of Corgi, has expanded its insurance offerings to better serve rental home owners, commercial property managers, and community associations. This move comes as property owners face increasingly stringent underwriting and higher premiums, making insurance more challenging to secure.
The broader rollout of Beagle’s insurance programs builds on the company’s existing experience and millions of dollars in premiums already underwritten through partnerships. The new offerings include short-term and long-term rental insurance, commercial tenant insurance compliance, and community association coverage for homeowners associations, condominium associations, co-operatives, and commercial risks. These products aim to address a range of risks that extend beyond individual resident policies, such as damage to rental income and shared community assets.
According to Robert Barlow, Executive Vice President of Partnerships at Corgi, the expansion is necessary to meet the insurance needs of property managers and community boards. "An uncovered roof claim can put an entire association's budget at risk. We are expanding Beagle to address more of the insurance needs that property managers and community boards face every day."
For rental owners, Beagle’s offerings include coverage for the building, owner-provided contents, liability, and lost rental income following a covered loss. This comprehensive protection is subject to underwriting and policy terms. Beagle’s commercial tenant insurance compliance offering includes lease-embedded general liability coverage for eligible commercial tenants. Property managers and owners are additional insureds, and tenants pay monthly through their tenant ledger at no cost to the property manager. Tenants can also select upgrades for additional coverage.
In the realm of community associations, Beagle’s Association Master Policy addresses the unique responsibilities of shared properties. This policy includes general liability with $1 million or $2 million per occurrence, excess or umbrella coverage from $1 million to $5 million per occurrence, and directors and officers coverage quoted on request. Property and inland marine coverage can be paired with general liability, while accident coverage for participants in association camps, sports, and functions can be offered separately or added. The limits, deductibles, and coverage combinations depend on the policy selected.
Beagle’s expanded offerings are designed to provide more options for protecting properties, rental income, and shared community assets. The company’s expansion is particularly timely given the current market conditions, where rising premiums and tighter underwriting are making insurance harder to secure. By broadening its reach, Beagle aims to help property owners and community associations navigate these challenges more effectively.
