Banyan Gold Corp., a junior gold mining company based in the Yukon Territory, has been added to the MVIS® Global Junior Gold Miners Index, the underlying index for the VanEck Junior Gold Miners ETF (GDXJ). This inclusion will take effect on Monday, September 21, 2026, following the Index's September 2026 review and rebalance.
The addition of Banyan Gold to the GDXJ is significant as the ETF is one of the most widely followed in the precious metals sector, offering investors access to a diverse collection of junior and mid-tier gold and silver producers, developers, and explorers on a global scale. Banyan Gold's inclusion is expected to enhance its profile and broaden its investor base, particularly among passive and ETF markets.
Tara Christie, President and CEO of Banyan Gold, stated, "Inclusion in the GDXJ represents a significant milestone for Banyan and highlights the scale of AurMac and the district opportunity associated with our Nitra project. We anticipate our addition to the GDXJ will enhance our profile and broaden our investor base, particularly among passive and ETF markets. This aligns with our ongoing momentum as we implement our strategic plan and work towards creating value for our shareholders."
Banyan Gold's primary asset, the AurMac Project, is located in the Traditional Territory of the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyäk Dun, in Canada's Yukon Territory. The project comprises two main deposits, the Airstrip and Powerline Deposits, with mineralization characteristic of a Reduced Intrusion Related Gold system. The current Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) for the AurMac Project, effective as of May 15, 2026, includes an Indicated Mineral Resource of 3.639 million ounces of gold (167.3 million tonnes at 0.68 g/t) and an Inferred Mineral Resource of 4.985 million ounces of gold (267.2 million tonnes at 0.58 g/t).
The company also holds the Hyland Gold Project, located 70 kilometers northeast of Watson Lake, Yukon, along the southeast end of the Tintina Gold Belt. The Hyland Project represents a sediment hosted, structurally controlled, intrusion-related gold deposit, within a large land package (over 125 square kilometers) accessible by a network of existing gravel access roads. The updated MRE for the Hyland Project, effective as of September 1, 2025, includes an Indicated Mineral Resource of 337,000 ounces of gold and 2.63 million ounces of silver (11.3 million tonnes at 0.93 g/t gold and 7.27 g/t silver), and an Inferred Mineral Resource of 118,000 ounces of gold and 860,000 ounces of silver (3.9 million tonnes at 0.95 g/t gold and 6.94 g/t silver).
Additionally, Banyan Gold holds the Nitra Gold Project and Seattle-Goodman Creek Project, which are grassroots exploration projects located in the Mayo Mining district, adjacent to the AurMac Gold Project. These properties lie in the northern part of the Selwyn Basin and are underlain by metaclastic rocks of the Late Proterozoic Yusezyu Formation of the Hyland Group, similar to lithologies hosting portions of the AurMac Project. Middle Cretaceous Tombstone Plutonic suite intrusions occur along the properties, including the Morrison Creek and Minto Creek stocks.
This inclusion in the GDXJ is expected to bring increased visibility and potential investment opportunities for Banyan Gold, as it aligns with the company's strategic goals of expanding its exploration and development activities in the Yukon Territory.
