LONDON, Sept. 16, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Ayan Capital, a UK-based Islamic fintech company, has secured a £75 million ($100 million) Shariah-compliant facility from Triple Point, an investment manager. This funding will support Ayan's expansion plans as it prepares to apply for a UK banking licence.

Since its launch in early 2024, Ayan Capital has seen significant growth, with over 150,000 people starting applications for its halal car finance services. The company boasts a 4.9 Trustpilot rating and reports that more than 60% of its website visitors initiate an application. Ayan maintains a loss rate below the industry average, and two-thirds of its team are engineers, with technology built in-house.

Ayan Capital aims to serve the growing Muslim population, which numbers nearly 50 million in the West. In the UK alone, the company estimates that Muslims hold around $90 billion in bank deposits and take $40 billion in financing annually. Despite this, most Muslims still rely on conventional banking, though 85% of them would use halal products if priced the same. Ayan's founders, who previously established Alif, a fintech and banking group serving over 10 million customers in Central Asia, are applying the same playbook in the UK. Their initial focus is on halal car finance, with plans to expand into cards, savings, and a full-service digital bank.

The new facility will enable Ayan to lower its cost of funding and offer more competitive pricing. The company intends to raise a Series A round in the coming months to fund its banking licence application. Backers include Cur8 Capital, Empakt Ventures, IT Park Ventures, and Caucasus VC.

Under Ayan's Ijara wa Iqtina structure, the company buys and owns each vehicle throughout the term, carrying the ownership risk, while customers pay fixed monthly rentals and take ownership at the end. Contracts are reviewed annually by independent Shariah advisers, and through AyanCare, Ayan also takes enhanced responsibility for unexpected mechanical and electrical repairs.

Abdullo Kurbanov, CEO and co-founder of Ayan Capital, stated, "There is a lot to do, but this facility lets us serve more customers, more competitively. Over time, we want to build a challenger bank that is open to everyone, whether they are looking for halal finance or not, and that raises the bar for what customers should expect."
