Every college football Saturday has a ritual, and this season, Avocados From Mexico is making guacamole the new standard. The company, known for its robust marketing campaigns, is launching "Saturdays Start With Guac," a season-long initiative aimed at turning guacamole into a pre-game staple for fans across the United States.
The campaign, which spans more than 1,600 games this season, is anchored by a new :30 spot that transforms the act of making guacamole into a full marching band anthem. This spot, titled "The Sound That Starts Saturdays," is set to air during the ESPN halftime show. Additionally, Avocados From Mexico is partnering with universities, including the University of Georgia and the University of Florida, to bring the campaign to life on campus.
To engage fans, the company is hitting the road with the Saturdays Start With Guac College Sampling Tour, visiting eight campuses across the Southeast through Nov. 27. Shoppers can also take advantage of special offers at participating retailers. For every $10 spent on avocados, customers can receive a $10 Fanatics promo code toward game day gear, either in stores or online. Shoppers can also get $1.50 cash back on bags with themed packaging.
The campaign is not just about the product; it's about creating a community. Through Nov. 21, fans can follow @avocadosfrommexico on Instagram and enter weekly "Guac Drops" for a chance to win new game day prizes. These prizes include $100 Fanatics gift cards, a Nomad grill, guac-themed cornhole, and tailgate upgrades like the Guacket, a wearable guacamole holder that keeps hands free for cheering. Every weekly entry also counts toward the season's Grand Prize: a hosted Guac Box Suite experience at the college football championship game in January.
Avocados From Mexico is also expanding its presence in the stadium. The Guac Box Suite, a fully branded, guac-themed suite, will return for 2027, now expanded to two premium suites at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, host of the championship on Jan. 25, 2027. The suite offers an elevated, immersive experience for one lucky Grand Prize winner and a guest to end the season the same way every Saturday started: with guac.
According to Numerator shopper data, the addition of avocados to the shopping cart during football season has led to a significant increase in basket size. The average basket size increased by 47% when avocados were added, underscoring the growing importance of the fruit in the lives of football fans.
The campaign is part of Avocados From Mexico's broader strategy to establish itself as a key player in the college football experience.
Avocados From Mexico's "Saturdays Start With Guac" campaign is designed to make guacamole a must-have for every college football Saturday. With its comprehensive approach, the company aims to cement its place in the hearts and kitchens of football fans across the country.
