SPOKANE, Wash., Nov. 04, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Avista Corp., an energy company involved in the production, transmission, and distribution of energy, reported its third-quarter and nine-month financial results for 2026. The company is confirming its 2026 non-GAAP utility earnings guidance with a range of $2.52 to $2.72 per diluted share. This guidance is based on several assumptions, including normal weather conditions, a negative impact from the ERM of ($0.09) cents per diluted share, an effective tax rate of 12 percent, and capital expenditures of $615 million for the year.
In the third quarter of 2026 and the nine months ended Sept. 30, 2026, Avista Corp. saw an increase in net income compared to the respective periods in 2025. This increase was primarily due to investment performance at the company's other businesses. For the nine months ended Sept. 30, 2026, net income also increased as a result of the impacts of general rate cases.
Avista Corp. is maintaining its focus on strategic execution and cost management.
The company's non-GAAP utility earnings for the third quarter and year-to-date 2026 are detailed in the following table (dollars in millions, except per-share data):
| Item | 2026 Q3 | 2025 Q3 | 2026 YTD | 2025 YTD | |, -|, -|, -|, -|, -| | Non-GAAP utility earnings | $208 | $196 | $618 | $582 | | Non-GAAP utility EPS | $1.68 | $1.58 | $4.74 | $4.46 |
Avista Corp. also provided an analysis of its non-regulated other business income. Income at the non-regulated other businesses was $29 million in the first three quarters of 2026, compared to losses of $13 million in the first three quarters of 2025. The fluctuation in results is primarily related to net investment gains in the second and third quarters of 2026 from the company's equity method investments, compared to net investment losses in 2025.
Regarding liquidity and capital resources, as of Sept. 30, 2026, Avista Corp. had $168 million of available liquidity under the Avista Corp. committed line of credit and $57 million of available liquidity under its letter of credit facility. The company plans to issue up to $15 million of additional common stock in 2026. In the first three quarters of 2026, Avista Corp. issued $58 million of common stock. For 2027, the company expects to issue up to $110 million of common stock.
Avista Corp. issued $230 million of long-term debt during the first three quarters of 2026. The company does not expect further issuances of long-term debt in 2026. Due to increased regulatory deferrals and delayed recovery, Avista Corp. plans to obtain a short-term loan of up to $100 million by the end of the fourth quarter of 2026. In 2027, the company expects to issue approximately $220 million of long-term debt.
