Authenticx Expands AI Solution for Pharmacovigilance Efficiencies

News provided byAuthenticx · 2 min read

Indianapolis-based Authenticx has expanded its Pharmacovigilance (PV) AI solution, building on the company’s established adverse event detection technology. The new capabilities allow patient conversation data to be seamlessly integrated into pharmaceutical manufacturers' existing safety workflows, enhancing efficiency and reducing manual effort.

The updated solution analyzes interactions between pharmaceutical manufacturers' patient service teams and their customers, including self-service chats and calls routed through contact centers. It flags potential safety events, structures relevant conversation details for review, and preserves the context of the original conversation. Manufacturers can either configure a human checkpoint within Authenticx or route the record into their system of record for further review.

"PV teams are not aiming to remove human judgment from the workflow," said Eric Prugh, chief product officer at Authenticx. "They need to reduce the manual work that can delay the process. Authenticx's AI has already shown it can identify potential safety events across patient conversations. These expanded capabilities help move the context from the original conversation into the manufacturers' established safety workflows, allowing trained professionals to focus on case qualification and reporting decisions."

The expanded workflow includes several key features: - AI-assisted form population: Authenticx detects potential safety signals and pre-populates configurable pharmacovigilance forms using relevant conversation details and metadata. - Configurable human oversight: Manufacturers can define review standards and place human qualification checkpoints where they fit their governance requirements. - System-of-record delivery: Once validated, records can be routed into Oracle Argus, Veeva, Salesforce, or another configured system of record, reducing manual re-entry and preserving the source context for reviewers.

In a recent case study involving a global pharmaceutical manufacturer, supervised AI by Authenticx reduced manual adverse event and product complaint review by approximately 90 percent, achieving 99 percent accuracy across more than 372,000 interactions. The customer has since expanded its use of Authenticx to include these capabilities.

Authenticx's safety-event detection and review technology has already demonstrated significant impact. The company's healthcare-trained AI platform, designed to analyze recorded calls, emails, chats, and other interactions, has been instrumental in transforming unstructured conversations into clear, actionable insights for enterprise healthcare leaders.

"The future of safety compliance is here, and Authenticx is leading the way," said Prugh. "Our goal is to help pharmaceutical manufacturers streamline their safety workflows and ensure timely and accurate reporting."
