Au Gold Corp has announced significant findings from its ongoing exploration at the Havelock Gold-Antimony project in Victoria, Australia. The company has sampled gold from the Shaw’s Main mine dump, with results showing a high-grade gold content of 54.20 grams per tonne (g/t), along with 25.10 and 16.70 g/t from other samples. These results come as the company adds two additional drill targets at the project, focusing on the Shaw’s Main and Rob Roy mines.

According to the company, the Shaw’s Main mine dump, located along the southern portion of the Shaw, McFarlane Trend (SMT), yielded the highest historical production of all the mines within the trend. Au Gold Corp’s personnel collected four composite samples from the top and periphery of the mine dump, with the strongest sample returning 54.20 g/t gold from a 1.88 kg sample. The company plans to target the 80 m section directly beneath the 500-foot level, where historical records indicate gold-bearing reef mineralization.

The Rob Roy mine, situated approximately 150 meters west of the main Shaw’s line of workings, has documented some of the richest material in the Maryborough district. The mine was only mined to a depth of 200 feet (61 meters) and collectively from three levels for approximately 145 meters. One section of the mine, between the 145 feet (44 meters) and 165 feet (50 meters) drive levels, encountered an ultra high-grade shoot, with descriptions of ‘Stone literally studded with large pieces of flakey gold and quartz is only held together by the precious metal’. The company plans to initiate drill testing in the vicinity of the hinge line directly beneath the 145- and 200-foot levels, where gold-bearing mineralization was last documented.

The company is building an inventory of drill targets and is preparing for drilling on the Shaw, McFarlane Trend and other peripheral targets. Additional work is ongoing as Au Gold Corp prepares for drilling to commence. The proximity of the drill sites to Four Mile Creek requires additional preparatory work, which has already commenced. The company continues to engage with the community, particularly private landowners within areas of interest on the project.

These findings and the addition of new drill targets underscore Au Gold Corp’s commitment to advancing its flagship Havelock gold-antimony project in the Victorian Gold Fields. The company remains focused on exploring and developing the project to potentially unlock significant gold resources.
