Atlas Lithium Advances Pre-Assembly for Modular Lithium Plant

News related to:Atlas Lithium Corporation · 2 min read

Atlas Lithium Corporation, headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida, has announced significant progress in the pre-assembly steps for its modular dense media separation (DMS) lithium processing plant. The company, which owns the 100%-owned and fully permitted Neves Project in Minas Gerais, Brazil, is working closely with Alfa Engenharia, its electromechanical assembly contractor, and the South African engineering firm that designed the DMS plant. These teams are currently readying each component of the plant and determining the optimal assembly sequence, marking an important milestone in the disciplined implementation of the Neves Project.

The plant, which is already in Brazil and fully permitted for installation and operation, is expected to produce approximately 146,000 tonnes of lithium concentrate per year. This modular design not only supports a significantly shorter timeline to commissioning and operations but also allows for future increases in production capacity. The plant is a modularized and optimized version of DMS technology, offering significant advantages over traditional processing facilities. It is designed to recycle approximately 95% of process water, positioning it among the most water-efficient plants in the sector.

According to the company, the Neves Project has demonstrated robust economics with a 145% internal rate of return (IRR) and an 11-month payback period. Atlas Lithium currently holds an approximate 20% ownership stake in Atlas Critical Minerals Corporation, further solidifying its position in the lithium market. The plant's DMS modules successfully completed trial assembly in South Africa before being disassembled and shipped to Brazil, ensuring that all components are ready for seamless integration.

Alfa Engenharia, the assembly contractor, has been engaged well in advance of the assembly process, ensuring that the plant's modular components are grouped into delivery packages and sequenced in the optimal order of assembly. This approach not only de-risks the project by addressing one of the largest capital and schedule risks but also supports the company's long-term intent to expand industrial capacity at the Neves Project.

The Neves Project is fully permitted and has a modular design that allows for future increases in production capacity. Initially, the plant is expected to produce approximately 146,000 tonnes of lithium concentrate per year. The plant's DMS technology is faster to the path to production, built for growth, and designed to recycle approximately 95% of process water. Additionally, the plant eliminates the need for a tailings dam, reducing environmental risk and supporting the highest environmental standards.

The company continues to see written product interest from large, well-established companies that, in aggregate, exceed its planned production. This interest underscores the growing demand for lithium in the market and the company's strategic position in the sector. While forward-looking statements are subject to inherent risks and uncertainties, Atlas Lithium remains focused on the successful assembly and operation of its modular plant, which is a critical step in bringing the Neves Project to production.
