ATLAS Expands PowerOS to Support Future Robotic Fleets

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA, CA, UNITED STATES, October 1, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- ATLAS Power Networks Inc. is expanding its PowerOS software architecture to support future humanoid and service-robot applications, aiming to address the growing need for reliable and secure energy management in robotic fleets. The company, which has been developing PowerOS for its PowerLink X1 smartphone reference system, is now applying the same principles to robotic devices, focusing on identifying, authorizing, and metering energy usage.

According to Robert Smith, the founder of ATLAS Power Networks, the concept behind PowerOS is similar to a payment network but tailored for power transactions.

The expansion of PowerOS into the robotics sector is driven by the increasing deployment of humanoid and service robots in various environments, including factories, warehouses, hotels, hospitals, and retail spaces. These robots require dependable access to energy to remain operational. Today, they typically return to charging docks, swap batteries, or go offline during charging, which can disrupt their service.

ATLAS believes that as robotic fleets grow, operators will need more than just a method of transferring electricity. They will need a system to manage and monitor energy usage effectively. Key questions that need to be addressed include: Which robot is requesting power? Is the robot authorized to receive it? What policies apply to the session? How much energy was delivered? Where should the session record be stored?

PowerOS is designed to serve as a control layer that addresses these questions. It aims to authenticate devices, verify permissions, authorize sessions, meter energy, and create auditable records. The security architecture is also being developed with a migration path toward recognized post-quantum cryptographic standards to protect device credentials, authorization messages, and session records.

Smith emphasized the importance of trust before access.

The company is developing PowerOS around a common API contract and energy-session model to integrate once, rather than requiring robot makers to build a separate power integration for every customer, market, or cloud environment. Regional API-gateway adapters are being developed to address different enterprise, cloud, and geographic deployment requirements.

PowerLink X1 remains in controlled validation, providing ATLAS with a practical environment for evaluating device identity, authorization, telemetry, metering, and session-record workflows. The expansion toward robotics applies the same proposed session model to future robotic endpoints, although it does not represent a completed or commercially available robot-charging capability.

ATLAS is approaching robotics as a business-to-business and OEM development opportunity, involving robot manufacturers, fleet operators, enterprise pilot programs, and private-label or ODM relationships. Interested parties can request a technical briefing under NDA.

The company is also evaluating wearable mobility technology as an extension of its smart-power vision. ATLAS is advised on commercialization strategy by APEX Financial Partners, a strategic advisory firm.
