PARSIPPANY, N.J., Oct. 30, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Atlas Copco Group has marked a significant milestone in its expansion efforts in the United States with a series of openings and expansion announcements during Expansion Week US, from October 26-29, 2026. The company has highlighted three strategic investments in US manufacturing, aiming to enhance production capabilities and support the local economy.

At its Voorheesville, New York, site, Atlas Copco Comptec has unveiled a 63,000-square-foot expansion designed to meet the growing demand for large integrally geared centrifugal compressors and turboexpanders. This expansion will bring the workforce at the 45-acre site to approximately 340 employees, bolstering the company's presence in critical sectors such as liquefied natural gas, carbon capture, industrial gases, and heat pumps. The expansion is expected to support shorter lead times and stronger supply chains, aligning with the company's commitment to producing products closer to its customers.

In Genesee County, New York, Edwards Vacuum, a part of the Atlas Copco Group, has inaugurated a 250,000-square-foot facility to expand its production of advanced dry vacuum pumps for the semiconductor industry. Powered by renewable hydroelectric energy, the new facility is expected to employ up to 600 people and significantly strengthen the domestic semiconductor supply chain in the United States. The facility's sustainable energy source underscores the company's dedication to environmental responsibility and innovation in the semiconductor sector.

Additionally, Atlas Copco Compressors has commenced the US assembly of dedicated models from its flagship Z range of oil-free air compressors at a new 200,000-square-foot facility in Rock Hill, South Carolina. The multi-functional site will support assembly, distribution, and remanufacturing operations for several Atlas Copco Group businesses, further enhancing the company's local manufacturing footprint. This move is expected to support shorter lead times and more efficient supply chains, ensuring that customers have access to the latest technology and solutions.

Across the United States, Atlas Copco Group operates more than 160 locations, including 26 production, remanufacturing, and distribution centers, employing approximately 7,500 people. Expansion Week US was a testament to the company's ongoing dedication to fostering a robust manufacturing ecosystem within the country. The series of openings and expansions not only highlight the company's strategic investments but also underscore its commitment to supporting the local economy and industrial growth.

The investments made during Expansion Week US are part of a broader strategy by Atlas Copco Group to enhance its manufacturing capabilities and better serve its customers. By producing products closer to their end-users, the company aims to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and respond more quickly to market demands. The expansion of its facilities in New York and South Carolina is a clear indication of the company's commitment to growth and innovation in the United States.
