Astra Space to Distribute $2.7 Million to Shareholders in Merger Settlement

NEW YORK, Sept. 1, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Astra Space, Inc., a leader in space technology, is set to distribute $2.7 million to its shareholders as part of a settlement reached in a class-action lawsuit. The settlement, which was approved by the Court of Chancery of the State of Delaware, resolves claims related to a merger between Astra Space, Inc., and Apogee Merger Sub Inc.
According to the terms of the settlement, announced on July 17, 2026, the total settlement amount of $2,700,000 will be distributed to shareholders who received cash consideration as a result of the merger. The settlement was reached through negotiations between the plaintiffs, including Jonathan Horner, Michael Krene, and Jerry Hamelton, and the defendants, Chris C. Kemp and Adam P. London.
The settlement will be officially discussed during a hearing scheduled for October 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., before The Honorable Nathan A. Cook, Vice Chancellor, either in person at the Court of Chancery of the State of Delaware or remotely by telephone or videoconference. The hearing will address various aspects of the settlement, including the certification of the class, the adequacy of representation, and the fairness of the proposed settlement.
Eligible shareholders will receive payments on a pro rata basis, based on the number of shares they held as of July 18, 2024. The settlement process does not require shareholders to file a claim form.
