ASM International N.V., a Dutch semiconductor equipment manufacturer, has announced its intention to nominate Dr. Rutger Wijburg for appointment to its Supervisory Board. The move is expected to be submitted to shareholders for approval at an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) scheduled for early March 2027.
Wijburg, who brings over 30 years of international experience in the semiconductor industry, will join the company after serving in various senior leadership roles at Infineon Technologies AG. From 2022 to 2025, he held the position of Chief Operations Officer and member of the Management Board. Prior to Infineon, Wijburg held key management positions at GlobalFoundries, NXP, and Philips Semiconductors. He currently serves on the Supervisory Board of ZEISS Group and SMART Photonics.
Pauline van der Meer Mohr, Chair of ASM’s Supervisory Board, expressed satisfaction with the proposed nomination. "We look forward to benefiting from his insights and experience as ASM continues to execute its strategy and support customers at the leading edge of semiconductor innovation."
The proposed appointment is part of ASM's broader succession planning efforts. In the coming months, the Supervisory Board will acquaint Wijburg with ASM and its activities before the proposed shareholder vote.
