AsedaSciences and Wepredic Integrate Non-Animal Cosmetics Safety Testing into 3RnD Platform

AsedaSciences and Wepredic have announced a strategic agreement that integrates cosmetics safety testing services into the 3RnD platform. This partnership aims to expand services for non-animal cosmetics safety assessment by incorporating Eurosafe screening portfolio into the 3RnD platform. The agreement will also establish Wepredic as a commercial sales and marketing partner for 3RnD in France, Belgium, and Switzerland.

The collaboration addresses a growing need in the cosmetics industry for earlier, more integrated approaches to understanding the safety of cosmetic ingredients and supporting informed product development decisions. The 3RnD platform, developed by AsedaSciences, now offers selected non-animal screening services from Eurosafe, including assessments of skin permeation, dermal absorption, and skin sensitization potential, alongside other high-value cosmetic safety assessments.

These services are designed to support the safety evaluation of cosmetic ingredients and inform decisions on concentrations of use, taking intended uses and relevant exposure conditions into account. By providing human-relevant, non-animal data earlier in research and development, the combined offering can help companies make better-informed decisions about ingredient selection, safety, and formulation.

The key value of the collaboration is the ability to combine complementary non-animal (NAM) methods and datasets within a single decision-support environment. Eurosafe services can be integrated with other capabilities available through 3RnD, such as Biomimetic Chromatography, which can provide insights relevant to cell permeability and compound distribution, and GPCR screening, which can assess interactions with G protein-coupled receptors expressed by cells in the skin. When considered together with dermal absorption, skin permeation, and sensitization data, these complementary methods can provide a more comprehensive view of how cosmetic ingredients interact with biological systems and the potential safety implications of skin exposure.

Rather than evaluating individual test results in isolation, 3RnD enables data from multiple methods to be centralized, connected, and visualized, helping researchers identify relationships between chemical properties, biological activity, and potential toxicity earlier in the development process. This collaboration adds core services that are highly relevant to the cosmetics industry while enabling AsedaSciences to consolidate complementary screening services and datasets within 3RnD.

Under the agreement, Wepredic will also market the 3RnD platform in France, Belgium, and Switzerland, providing AsedaSciences with expanded access to the cosmetics industry across these markets. Wepredic brings established relationships and industry expertise within the European cosmetics sector, complementing AsedaSciences' technology and growing ecosystem of NAMs, chemical intelligence, and biological data. The partnership is intended to accelerate adoption of integrated, non-animal safety assessment approaches among cosmetics companies seeking to make better-informed decisions earlier in research and development.

The collaboration further strengthens the 3RnD ecosystem by connecting specialized NAMs providers, screening technologies, and biological datasets within a common cloud-based platform. For the cosmetics industry, this creates an opportunity to move beyond individual assays toward a more connected approach to chemical safety assessment, combining chemical properties, biological responses, and exposure-relevant information to support earlier and more confident decisions.

The agreement represents another step toward AsedaSciences' vision of enabling the design and development of safer chemicals through human-relevant, data-driven, and animal-free approaches.
