AS Tallink Grupp reports passenger and cargo growth in August 2026

In August 2026, AS Tallink Grupp reported a slight increase in passenger numbers and a notable rise in cargo transportation compared to the same month in the previous year. The company transported 611,913 passengers, up 2.8% from August 2025. Meanwhile, the number of cargo units increased by 6.2% to 20,722 units, while passenger vehicle traffic saw a 0.3% decrease to 83,282 units.

On the Estonia-Finland route, operations were carried out by the shuttle vessels MyStar and Megastar, as well as the cruise ferry Victoria I. For the Finland-Sweden route, the cruise ferries Silja Serenade and Silja Symphony served the Helsinki-Stockholm route, while the Turku-Stockholm route was handled by the cruise ferry Baltic Princess. The Estonia-Sweden route, managed by the cruise ferries Baltic Queen and Romantika, saw Romantika operate for three days. A year ago, this route also included the Paldiski-Kapellskär route, operated by the passenger vessel Superfast IX. Operations on this route were suspended following the commencement of a charter agreement for Superfast IX on May 1, 2026.

Other notable events during August included the extension of the charter agreement for the cruise ferry Galaxy I until April 2027. This agreement includes an option for further extension. The Galaxy I was chartered to Slaapschepen Public BV, an organization nominated by Centraal Orgaan Opvang Asielzoekers (COA) in the Netherlands, in September 2022.
