WASHINGTON, DC, October 29, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- ARC Clean Technology and Hyundai Engineering have entered into a strategic partnership to collaborate on the deployment of the ARC-100, a sodium-cooled advanced nuclear reactor, in the United States and other markets. The agreement, signed as a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), aims to leverage the strengths of both companies to support the first U.S. deployment of the ARC-100 at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL).

The MOU outlines two primary areas of cooperation. The first involves supporting the deployment of the ARC-100 at INL, where ARC has already signed a Strategic Partnership Projects agreement with Battelle Energy Alliance. This agreement includes the formation of a project consortium and the integration of the Korean nuclear supply chain. The second area focuses on the completion of the ARC-100 design and its licensing by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) under 10 CFR Part 53.

Hyundai Engineering, a global engineering, procurement, and construction company, sees the ARC-100 as a key solution for meeting the growing electricity demand from AI data centers and industrial users.

ARC Clean Technology, headquartered in Washington, DC, is developing the ARC-100, an advanced small modular reactor offering safe, reliable, and economical carbon-free power. The reactor builds on thirty years of prototype operating experience and is now in its final design phase. ARC is currently in pre-application engagement with the NRC and is advancing the first U.S. deployment at INL, with international deployment programs in Canada and Türkiye.

James Wolf, CEO of ARC Clean Technology, emphasized the importance of partnering with companies like Hyundai Engineering.

The agreement comes as demand for firm, dispatchable generation in the United States is rising sharply, driven by the growth of AI data center load. INL, one of four federally managed sites designated by the U.S. Department of Energy for AI data center and energy infrastructure development, is a key location for this collaboration.

Both companies are optimistic about the potential of the ARC-100 to address the increasing need for reliable, carbon-free energy sources. The partnership is expected to accelerate the deployment of this innovative technology and contribute to the energy security and sustainability goals of the United States and other markets.
