Aquitaine Metals Corp. has successfully completed a C$45 million private placement, issuing 8,208,989 common shares at a price of C$5.50 per share. The financing brings the company's total issued and outstanding common shares to approximately 45.9 million.
The proceeds from this financing will primarily be used to accelerate exploration activities at the Limousin Gold and Critical Metals Project in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France. The majority of the funds will be directed toward expanding drilling activities and increasing the number of metres drilled. Additional uses of the funds include general working capital, strengthening the company's technical and management teams, advancing detailed technical research programs, and supporting ongoing hydrogeological, environmental, and community engagement initiatives.
Aquitaine Metals Corp. is now well-positioned to significantly increase the pace and scale of exploration at the Limousin Project. The financing was supported by both existing shareholders and a strong group of new investors, including institutional investors from France and other parts of Europe, South America, and North America. This broad international interest underscores the project's potential and the company's strategic importance.
To bolster its leadership team, Aquitaine Metals Corp. has added Lyle Braaten to its board of directors and appointed Max-Julian Vignaud as Vice President, Public and Environmental Affairs. Braaten brings over 30 years of experience in the natural resources sector, including extensive work in Europe. Vignaud, with more than 15 years of international experience in critical raw materials, metals processing, and industrial and mining site remediation, will support the company's efforts to navigate environmental and regulatory challenges.
The Limousin Project, located in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France, covers 330 square kilometres and includes 23 past-producing small-scale gold mines. Historical operations in the district were conducted by COGEMA, a French mining company, which produced approximately one million ounces of gold between 1988 and 2002. Aquitaine's technical team has identified evidence of critical and strategic accessory minerals, including silver, antimony, tungsten, lead, copper, and zinc, which accompany the gold mineralization across the Limousin district.
Aquitaine Metals Corp. is a Vancouver-based private gold and strategic metals exploration company focused on reviving mining projects in France. Through its wholly owned French subsidiary CMA, the company is advancing the Limousin project, where a Phase 1 diamond drill program is underway to confirm historical datasets and test extensions of high-grade gold and critical metals ore zones.
The company's commitment to sustainable exploration is reflected in its long-term vision of responsible stewardship of the land, operational excellence, and accountability. Records of work activities, permitting timelines, and environmental monitoring progress are available on CMA's website at https://www.minesarediennes.fr/.
